All About Family Memories ~ Day 3

January 2, 2020

Sometimes you will never know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory.
~Theodor Seuss Geisel
Family memories, My family hunting for our christmas tree 2019, Auburn CA.
Making family memories. This is my family this year after choosing our Christmas tree. Not the best photo but it fills my heart that we were all together and remembered to capture it.

Memories are funny. Sometimes we think we will always remember a certain memory, especially when it comes to our family memories. Then years go by, life happens, and we forget. We go to tell a story and we just can’t remember it completely. Then we stumble on a photo and BAM the memories come flooding back. Sometimes even the smells, sounds, weather, all the little things about that moment flood your soul.

This happens a lot for me with family memories. There are times I think…how can I possibly forget this thing my child is doing, that I love so much. But over time I do. Whether it is sleep deprivation, chaos, life, or so many other factors. Then there are days like today. I resurrected a very old hard drive that we thought was toast. On that drive was years of memories that I forgot about. Years of photos thought to be gone for good. Photos I didn’t remember even existing.

Family memories found!

Including more photos of my second son than I thought I had. Because let’s be honest, the second child has way less images. And if they were born before the digital age, all their photos through the years may still be on the roll of film you never developed. Yes…I am that photographer that doesn’t have some film developed. I know I am not the only one. Raise your hand if you too slacked on photos.

Well, this is why today’s giveaway is all about family!! Well my favourite one is above. Had to me my wedding 🙂

  2. Ashley Lopez says:

My favorite family memory is of my oldest daughter meeting her little sister for the first time. She wanted to hold her and kiss her. Now that they are almost 2 and 4, I am blessed to say she is still loving towards her sister and my youngest daughter has learned how to hug and kiss her back.

One of my favorites is also when my first son met his brother. He couldn’t stop looking at him. And it was crazy how big my first looked when he came to visit. It was like he grew overnight.

  3. Vy Dang says:

I have to say the session when Grace was 6 days old. That became my favorite family memory and i still go through the pictures over and over again!!!

  4. Joy Majors says:

A family getaway to San Diego listening to Katy Perry’s Roar in the car. Part of the lyrics include “I’m a champion” but Elle was insistent she was saying “I’m a chaz girl”. This went on for several years lol. Strong, stubborn and silly….you have captured so many faces of Elle since she was 1! Thank you Ann Keen!

Kids first slumber party in big sister’s room reading books and making each other laugh until they suddenly fell asleep.
