When I saw this quote, I had to use it. It is just was Scott and Eren did on their day! There was no shortage of raindrops. Just see the photo below.

As you may know, last year I stopped taking weddings, with a few exceptions. When Eren called me about her intimate wedding, I couldn’t wait to hear more. As a bonus we hit it off and I could not say no. Of course I had to check with Travis since it was his birthday, but thankfully it was a go.

Mr & Mrs

I cannot begin to explain how excited I was for this wedding. Not only because I have missed capturing the love my couples have for each other, but also knowing everything they went through to get to their day. A medical complication, having to find a new venue, living apart, and then the rainiest season in a long time. Oh, there was a major accident on the highway that almost completely blocked me from getting there. None of that would stop this wedding.

As I finally arrived to the Newcastle Wedding Gardens and the rain was holding off. While everyone was implementing plan b for the ceremony since the rain looked like it would interrupt an outdoor ceremony, we quickly went outside to get some portraits. I managed to capture 3 images before large drops of rain started to fall. Dodging raindrops we capture some beautiful portraits of them looking absolutely stunning. The rain stopped as we were wrapping up photos, so I ran inside to bring everyone outside for the ceremony.

An outdoor wedding!

Scott & Eren had a beautiful outdoor rain free ceremony officiated by the absolutely wonderful Cindie Wilding. They say rain on your wedding day is a symbol of good luck. Travis and I know this well since it was an El Niño year and poured on our wedding day, and we just celebrated 25 years. The explanation to it being good luck is a knot that becomes wet is extremely hard to untie, so when you ‘tie the knot’ on a rainy day, your marriage is supposedly just as hard to unravel!

These two truly had such a beautiful day. They wrapped up their day with a wonderful dinner and some adorable yummy mini cakes by Cathy Hood.
