Do you ever get that feeling that this is where I NEED to be? Well for me this has come a couple times in the last week. I am so thankful for what I have, where I have been, and the ability to preserve moments in time forever for my clients. However, lately I have had this overwhelming feeling that some things need to change. Things like growing my business and taking it to a new level, having more time with my amazing husband and beautiful children, having a website where my clients know who I am from the time they log on, and feeling less stressed and overwhelmed so I can walk away from work and spending quality time with my loved ones and myself. Well, thanks to some amazing showiteers, I came across this unique community on Facebook (I know big surprise right). It is called Pursuit 31. This group is full of love, encouragement, support, prayer and guidence. I could not have found a better place to be right now in my life. The same day I was told about this site, I was feeling like maybe having a photography business isn’t the right thing for my family right now. It was just the place I needed to be. 🙂 So after I read the fan page info and posts, it led me to read Karen Stott’s blog post (http://www.karenstottblog.com/events/introducing-the-pursuit-31-scholarship-program/) that finally led me to the Pursuit 31 website, where I found myself overwhelmed with excitement, a full heart, tears in my eyes, a desire stronger than I ever felt, and that feeling of this IS where I NEED to be! This is what I have been dreaming of, waiting for, hoping for, and longing for. Funny thing was that all the things I was wanting and needing in my life were all the same questions being asked on the “is Pursuit 31 for me?” page. Oh, in case you are wondering the Pursuit 31 community is “a group of women photographers in pursuit of walking in greatness through our businesses and our homes for the glory of God.” Sorry Karen, I couldn’t have said it any better so I had to quote it. :). Pursuit 31 is not just a Facebook community it is also a multi-day retreat. This retreat is designed to encourage, support, and help women with the steps needed to run successful businesses without losing sight of their families. The more I read about this retreat, the more I am drawn closer and closer to it. In fact, I think I have found myself on the website at least 3-4 times a day, if not more. 🙂 I definitely suffer from letting my business take over my life (as my hubby can surely tell you). My heart is strong in knowing this retreat is my destiny. To my great excitement, there will be one here in sunny Palm Springs, CA. That is practically in my backyard…well 30 minutes away, but still. 🙂 Which leads me to why I am writing this post. I really want the opportunity to go to this unique retreat! And what would be better than being blessed with the ability to go via a scholarship? Well that is a great possibility! 🙂 But I do need your help. “How?” you ask, well you can do your part to help me get there by going to the Pursuit 31 fan page, like them, then like my post. If I am one of the top 3 who want to attend the Palm Springs retreat with the most likes on their post, I will have a chance at getting a seat!! Please help me to learn about my business, to have more time for my family and myself, and to grow.
