It is that time of year to choose the 2024 feature image. This is when I go through all the images I captured throughout the previous year and choose a feature image. That image is then added to everything from my website header to social media and all marketing material for the new year.
Each year it seems to get harder and harder to choose. The main requirement for the image is that it shows love, laughter, strength, and adventure. I feel like this sweet image embodies it all. So, 2024’s feature image has been chosen!! And this sweet boys stole the show. Be sure to check out this image and so many more fun family moments on my site too.

Being a family photographer is such a joy. Even when they are little and throw fits because photos are not what they want to do. Haha! Through my sessions I get to watch my families grow, capture their important memories, and get to become friends. And acquire cute little nicknames like “camera coach” from this family’s oldest.
This past year I got to capture a client’s engagement session and she has been with me since her senior portraits in 2013. I don’t photograph weddings often anymore, but I will be capturing her saying I do this year. I also have some clients that I have photographed as newborns that will be teens this year. Getting to capture these kinds of moments for my clients fills my heart. And can never say thank you enough!
This past fall I had the privilege of capturing this family again here in Auburn, CA for their fall portraits. We chose the wonderful School Park Preserve, which is one of my favorite places in town. The weather was perfect, the light was gorgeous, and there was lots of giggles, jumping, kisses, and love.
One of my favorite things to do with families with little ones is to just let them play and snuggle. Capturing them just being them. And sometimes that means running in circles around mom and dad. Just check out how absolutely precious these photos are. I cannot wait to capture this family again in the future.
