The Inland Empire Derby Divas (IEDD) are an all women flat track roller derby league. If you have never experienced roller derby before, you ought to. Roller derby is intense. It consists of a 60-minute bout broken up into 2 or 3 periods. In roller derby, there are lots of physical encounters while the jammer scores points for her team. To learn more about roller derby check out WFTDA or IEDD’s Derby 101 page.
A few weeks back my husband, Travis, and I went to our first roller derby bout. A high school friend of mine skates for IEDD as Ameri-Cannon. So we decided to go check it out. It was great! We had tons of fun and of course I brought my camera along. Their next bout is April 17th at 6:30 p.m. at Cal Skate in Grand Terrace, CA. We will definitely be there and this time we are bringing our older boys.
Below my images is a slideshow of more images taken at the IEDD Blocking for Gold bout.
Enjoy!
