First day of Spring ~ Palm Desert Photographer

March 20th, 2011

Today was the first day of Spring! The vernal equinox. When the day and night are nearly equal in hours. It is the beginning of spring in the northern hemisphere, and the start of autumn in many parts of the southern hemisphere. Here in the desert we have had some beautiful days over the last few weeks. 80°, bright blue skies, and just enough breeze. Today was slightly different. 70° and partly cloudy. Still a very nice day.

I really love the Spring. The weather is usually nice, flowers begin to bloom, the days are longer, and I tend to be more motivated to do little projects here and there. In fact, today my husband and I worked on painting my home office/dining room! We are just about finished and I already feel like a new person. Now it is time to get my desk organized. :) Being of creative mind and a little bit of a pack rat, my desk is a disaster.

What do you like most about the spring? How did you spend your first day of spring?

Here are a couple of my favorite images of spring…

One month down ~ Palm Desert Photographer

January 31st, 2011

So I have officially completed my first month of my 365 Project. I have had a great time discovering new things to photograph. And look forward to seeing what I will come up with next month. If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to comment and let me know. I would love to incorporate my followers ideas. If you have been following me since day one, thank you! I hope you are enjoying it. If you are just reading about my project, I have been taking a photo a day everyday. The project goes for 365 days. I have photographed everything. My boys, their creations, flowers, scenery, toys, and randomness. I have some potential plans for what I will be doing with the images at the end, but it is too soon to spill the beans now. :) For now, go take a peek, I am sure you won’t be disappointed. :)

I would have never thought that being 8% complete would feel so good. Last year I think I made it to day 7 before completely slacking. So YAY for 8%! Here is to the next 8.

Month one…Check!!!
