Upcoming Launch ~ Palm Desert Photographer

April 28th, 2011

If you follow me on Facebook, whether as a friend or fan, you may have seen the posts on the launching of a new website.  I can still be found at www.annkeenphotography.com, but now when you navigate there you will see a whole new look.  I have been working day and night to design my new site.  While the last site was nice, I needed something that offered more.  With the new site, anyone can see it on any device (cell phone, iPhone, iPad, etc.).  I am so excited to say it is almost done and is set to launch May 1st.  The only down side to the change is that my site and blog may be down for up to 3 days.  So if you venture there and nothing pulls up, don’t worry my internet presence will return in a couple days.  If you need information during the down time please feel free to venture over to Facebook.

Thanks to Showit for making endless possibilities available to give photographers the ability to make their websites their way.  It is so nice to not be restricted to a template site.

Thanks to my wonderful husband for encouraging a change and the patience while I spent countless hours on my computer.

Here is a little peak at what is coming…

Inland Empire Derby Divas ~ Grand Terrace Photographer

March 30th, 2011

The Inland Empire Derby Divas (IEDD) are an all women flat track roller derby league. If you have never experienced roller derby before, you ought to. Roller derby is intense. It consists of a 60-minute bout broken up into 2 or 3 periods. In roller derby, there are lots of physical encounters while the jammer scores points for her team. To learn more about roller derby check out WFTDA or IEDD’s Derby 101 page.

A few weeks back my husband, Travis, and I went to our first roller derby bout. A high school friend of mine skates for IEDD as Ameri-Cannon. So we decided to go check it out. It was great! We had tons of fun and of course I brought my camera along. Their next bout is April 17th at 6:30 p.m. at Cal Skate in Grand Terrace, CA. We will definitely be there and this time we are bringing our older boys.

Below my images is a slideshow of more images taken at the IEDD Blocking for Gold bout.

Enjoy!

~ Ann
